• Sand casting of aluminum alloys

In these alloys groups 2, 3, 4 can be hardened by heat treatment. Groups 1 and 5 are used as castings.

According to 2005 data, almost 42% of the world's aluminum production was realized as aluminum casting alloys (15 million tons). 66% of this amount was turned into pieces by pressure casting (10 million tons). the remaining part was turned into pieces by gravity casting, sand casting, gypsum casting and other methods.
